If you are travelling from Sydney or further afield and need to break the trip to
avoid late night travelling then please consider stopping off in Queanbeyan to
have a well earnt rest and arrive in the Snowy Mountains refreshed and ready to
hit the slopes. AS Queanbeyan is located on the NSW/ACT border then why not
consider having a mini break on your way home and take in the sights of Canberra
for a day or two as Canberra city centre is an easy 10 minute drive from the
motel.
Late night driving in the Snowy Mountains can come with a mix of wildlife, black
ice, heavy snow falls and, if you do not have a 4 wheel drive or All wheel drive
vehicle, there is the distinct possibility of fitting chains on to a car in pitch black
and freezing conditions. And so we strongly suggest that if your travel plans
anticipate arriving after 9pm then you should break the trip and stay at the
Country Plaza Queanbeyan along the way.
The Country Plaza Queanbeyan is a family owned and operated 22 unit motel and
is easily accessible to the Monaro Highway to get you back on your way up to the
snowfields. They have comfortably appointed rooms to suit singles, couples and
families with a range of facilities including EV charger facilities.
For more information and/or reservations please click on the link here and you
will be transferred to the Country Plaza Queanbeyan website. In the meantime
we look forward to welcoming you to the Lions Lair Lodge in Smiggin Holes – your
winter destination.
